Limits and scope
In the figure below the limits and scope of the technical system investigated within Waste Refinery can be seen. Projects significant for the entire chain, from collection of waste to minimal formation of hazardous compounds, are important in order to attain an optimal system in balance. Projects taking this into consideration will be prioritised by Waste Refinery.
The work of Waste Refinery is restricted to waste treatment, which means that upstream areas in the products' life cycles, such as the generation of waste, environmentally friendly product design and materials recycling will not be in focus.
